Why is Minijob good?

Basically, Minijob is a job where you earn up to 520 euros gross per month and that amount is paid to you as net, i.e. it is tax-free. When you do a Minijob in addition to a permanent job and want to earn extra, it is called a Nebenjob.

Where can you do a Minijob?

The two most common jobs for Minijob are cleaning and handing out flyers. The third place where you can look for a Minijob is restaurants, but there you usually do a Minijob officially, and the rest on the black.

Are you health insured?

If you do only Minijob, you don´t have health insurance, but if you apply to Jobcentar, then you will have health insurance through them.

Are you receiving unemployment benefits - Arbeitlosengeld?

In this case, you can work Minijob up to 3 and a half hours a week, approximately €165 per month. This part does not affect your unemployment benefit.

What is the minimum hourly rate?

As of October 1, 2022, the salary limit for small businesses has been raised to 520 euros. Until September 30, 2022, it amounted to 450 euros. Minijob is always present when the employee earns an average of up to 520 euros per month.

Kurzfristiger Minijob?

Same as Minijob, only you can work unlimited up to 70 days a year. For example do you do some seasonal work, then sign a Kurzfristiger Minijob?
